Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Krispies™ Treats

Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Krispies™ Treats

Available at Kellogg’s NYC beginning on Monday, February 11. Supply is limited!

 Yield: 12 Servings

3 cups Kellogg's® Strawberry Krispies™ cereal
2 cups mini marshmallows
1½ tbsp. unsalted butter
Green fondant or pliable green candy taffy strips
½ cup dark chocolate candy melts
½ cup white chocolate candy melts
1 tbsp. coconut oil

  1. Place Strawberry Krispies™ in a large bowl.

  2. Place marshmallows and butter in a microwave-safe bowl large enough to allow marshmallows to expand about 4x their original size. Microwave 1 minute on high, until butter is melted and marshmallows are puffed. Microwave longer if necessary.

  3. Using a rubber spatula, pour the marshmallow mixture onto the Strawberry Krispies™ and gently fold until just combined — a few streaks of marshmallow are okay!

  4. Roll a golf-ball-sized ball of the mixture between your hands and gently form into a strawberry shape.

  5. Place strawberry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat with remaining mixture to make 12.

  6. Roll a small piece of fondant or green candy out on a work surface, to about 1/8 inch. To prevent sticking, you can use a bit of powdered sugar or roll it between two sheets of wax or parchment paper.

  7. Use a small star or flower cutter to punch your strawberry leaves out from the rolled fondant or candy (a small paring knife can help loosen it from the cutter). Smooth out the “leaves” with a rounded fondant tool or your pinky. Gently press into the bigger end of the strawberries.

  8. Place the white and dark chocolate candy melts in separate bowls and add ½ tbsp. coconut oil to each. Microwave at 50% power in 30-second intervals until melted. Stir until smooth.

  9. Dip strawberries into the chocolate of your choice and place back onto the baking sheet. To make a drizzle, dip a fork into the melted chocolate and drizzle it over the dipped strawberries.

  10. Set aside to set at room temperature or in the refrigerator. Once set, store at room temperature in an airtight container.
